Inviting Residents

Residents need an invitation to access your HOA's portal. Once invited, they can submit requests, track progress, and reply to board updates.

How to Send an Invitation

  1. 1

    Go to Settings → Members

Click Settings in the sidebar, then select the Members tab.
  2. 2

    Enter the resident's email address

Type their email in the invite form. Make sure the role dropdown is set to Resident.
  3. 3

    Click "Send Invite"

The resident will receive an email with a link to create their account and join your portal. You'll see them listed as "Invitation pending" in the Members list until they accept.
Note: Inviting residents requires a paid plan or an active trial with a payment method on file. See the Billing & Plans article for details.

Pending Invitations

After sending an invite, you'll see the resident listed with an envelope icon and an “Invitation pending” status in the Members list. This updates automatically every 15 seconds, and also refreshes when you switch back to the tab.

If you need to cancel an invitation before it's accepted — for example, if you sent it to the wrong address — click Revoke next to the pending invite. Board Admins can revoke invitations; board members can only send them.

What Residents See After Joining

Once a resident accepts their invitation and signs in, they'll land on the resident dashboard. From there they can:

  • Submit a new request to the board
  • View and track all of their own submitted requests
  • Reply to board updates on their requests

Residents only see their own requests — never other residents' submissions. They also cannot see board tasks, internal notes, or any board-only content.
