For Board Members & Admins

Units & Residents

Your unit roster is the backbone of an organized community. Linking residents to their homes makes it clear who lives where — and it's what powers violations. Go to Settings → Units to manage it. This page is available to all board members and admins.

Units & People

Settings → Units has two tabs:

  • Units — every home, lot, or address in your community, with the residents linked to each one
  • People — the full member list, where you can quickly assign someone to a unit or remove them

Use Invite Someone in the top-right to bring a new resident or board member into your HOA at any time.

Adding a Unit

On the Units tab, click + Add Unit. Give the unit a name — whatever your community uses, like “Unit 4B” or “Lot 7” (up to 200 characters). You can optionally add a street address; start typing and pick it from the suggestions. Click Add to save.

Importing from a CSV

Setting up a whole community at once? Click Import CSV to upload your roster in one step instead of adding units one at a time. This is the fastest way to get a new HOA off the ground.

Managing a Unit

Click any unit to expand it in place. You'll see the residents linked to it and the actions for that unit — there's no separate page to navigate to. From the expanded view you can:

  • Edit Unit — change the name or address
  • Link an existing member to the unit
  • Set Primary or Remove a linked resident
  • Invite someone new straight into that unit
  • Deactivate the unit when it's no longer needed

Linking Residents

Expand a unit and use Link an existing member to search your members by name or email, then click someone to link them. You can also use the Assign Unit control on the People tab.

  • Each resident belongs to one unit. If you link someone who's already in another unit, you'll be asked to confirm the move.
  • Board admins aren't linked to units — units are for tracking residents and their homes.

The Primary Contact

Each unit can have one primary contact — the resident shown first for that unit. Click Set Primary next to a resident to make them the primary; setting a new one replaces the old.

Warning: The primary contact is who gets emailed when a violation is issued for the unit. If a unit has residents but no primary, you'll see a “Missing Primary” flag — set one so violation notices reach the right person.

Deactivating a Unit

Expand a unit and click Deactivate to retire it. Deactivated units:

  • Move to an Inactive section and stop appearing when issuing violations
  • Keep their linked residents — nothing is deleted
  • Can be brought back any time with Reactivate (reactivate it to manage its residents again)
