For Board Members

Announcements

Announcements let your board broadcast time-sensitive messages to the whole community — window washing schedules, fire alarm testing, pool closures, and anything else residents need to know. They appear on everyone's dashboard and trigger an email to residents. Click Announcements in the sidebar to get started.

Posting an announcement

Board members, board admins, and property managers can post announcements. To create one:

  1. Click Announcements in the sidebar.
  2. Fill in the Title — keep it short and clear (e.g. "Window washing on June 11th").
  3. Write your Message with the details residents need.
  4. Set an Expires on date. This is required — the announcement hides automatically once the date passes.
  5. Click Post Announcement.

Once posted, all opted-in residents receive an email and the announcement appears on every member's dashboard immediately.

How it appears on dashboards

Active announcements show as blue banners at the very top of both the board dashboard and the resident dashboard — before any other content. Up to three active announcements are shown at a time.

Board members see a Manage → link in each banner that takes them straight to the Announcements page. Residents see a View all → link to the full list.

Editing & deleting

From the Announcements page, each announcement card has two action buttons in the top-right corner:

Pencil icon — Edit

Opens an inline edit form pre-filled with the current title, message, and expiry date. Update any field and click Save. Click Cancel to discard changes.

Trash icon — Delete

Permanently removes the announcement. You'll be asked to confirm before it's deleted.

Expired announcements remain visible to board members in a separate Expired section at the bottom of the page so you have a record of what was posted. You can still edit or delete them there.

Expiration dates

Every announcement requires an expiration date — this is by design. An expired announcement automatically stops appearing on dashboards and in the resident list. You don't have to remember to clean up old notices; the date does it for you.

Tip: Set the expiry date to the day after the event is fully over. An announcement set to expire on June 11th stays visible through the end of that day.

If you need to extend an announcement (say the window washing is rescheduled), just click the pencil icon and update the expiry date — no need to re-post.

What residents see

Residents see active announcements as blue banners at the top of their dashboard. They can also click Announcementsin their sidebar to view the full list at any time. The Announcements page for residents is read-only — they can't create or delete announcements.

Expired announcements don't appear in the resident view at all.

Email notifications

When you post an announcement, every resident who hasn't opted out receives an email with the announcement title and message, plus a link to the Announcements page. Emails are sent only when a new announcement is created — editing or deleting doesn't trigger a new email.

Residents can opt out in Account → Email Notificationsby turning off “HOA announcements.”

Board members can do the same in Settings → Profile → Email Notifications.
